Job Purpose
The General Worker will be responsible for daily cleaning, housekeeping, and maintenance tasks at the Water Care Works (WCW) facilities. The role ensures a hygienic, safe, and efficient working environment across operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks in offices, kitchens, control rooms, change rooms, ablution facilities, and surrounding grounds.
- Conduct ground and equipment maintenance at treatment plants.
- Prevent clogging at treatment units by directing sludge according to set procedures.
- Adhere to all safety rules, procedures, and signage to ensure a zero-incident environment.
- Clean pump stations, screens, and process units regularly.
- Remove algae, debris, and obstructions on equipment and treatment units.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 8 (NQF Level 2) or N1 Qualification (NQF Level 2)
- Ability to perform physical labour and follow safety procedures.
